Q. Often the “Idol’’ records come out so fast and are recorded so haphazardly that they’re not the best showcases for the singer. But speed is a factor. Were you worried about taking your time?
A. It’s probably not the best business strategy on one end, but at the same time it’s the only one. You’ve got to have quality product. That’s one thing I am proud of. My album, regardless of what happens, if anyone even buys it, I know it’s an album I can stand on.
