"Rhythm & Blues" with guest Jason Castro Our final attempt at a special guest performer fell through again when we tried booking Jason Castro for DTown 2011. But Bode found time in his busy schedule (Jason's, not his) to pull Jason aside for a quick interview in his third episode of "Rhythm and Blues." No, Bode's interviewing skills did not get any better.
Dallas’s own Jason Castro has hit the Top 10 w/ his “You Are” single; see him here at the American Airlines Center during Winter Jam Tour Spectacular on Friday!
Atlantic Records/Word Entertainment’s Jason Castro is ready to heat up the final run of the Winter Jam 2011 Tour Spectacular “American Bible Society Pre-jam Party.” Joining previously announced special guests Fervent recording artists Chris August and Sidewalk Prophets, Castro will be warming up the stage for Christian Music favorites Francesca Battistelli, KJ-52, Kutless, NewSong, RED, The David Crowder Band and The Newsboys and speaker Tony Nolan. He will embark on this nationwide tour beginning on February 17 in Baton Rouge, LA. On the heels of the tour news, Castro’s latest single “You Are” cracked the Top 10 this week at Christian Radio landing in the No. 9 spot on Billboard’s Christian/AC Indicator Chart. “You Are” is the lead single from his current release Who I Am, a unique collection of songs; featuring five fresh along side five fan-favorites from his incredible debut album produced by Eric Rosse (Tori Amos, Sara Bareilles) and Ian Eskelin (All Star United, Francesca Battistelli, Remedy Drive).
With his rich tenor voice, distinctive looks, and endearingly innocent charm, Castro won over millions of viewers as a contestant on the seventh season of American Idol, parlaying his substantial singer-songwriter appeal into a third-place runner-up finish. The 23-year-old Texan released his self-titled debut album on Atlantic Records in 2010, which debuted at No. 18 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart and spawned the international hit “Let’s Just Fall In Love Again” — a No. 1 single in Norway, Singapore, and The Philippines. While touring in support of the album, Castro felt the urge to write a batch of new songs about his Christian faith, several of which are included on his current release Who I Am.
